Register for Sept. 30th’s FREE Virtual Brunch
Valerie and Nicolás will discuss the altered airline schedules we’ve seen during the COVID pandemic...and when service will return to a more familiar, normal schedule. She’ll talk about modifications and requirements for the airport, airlines and travelers in the post-pandemic era, and she and Nicolas will provide insight and information on new service and destinations, too.
As usual with the previous “virtual brunches” we’ve held during this year, this one will also be free to members of the Aero Club and the interested or curious public. Thanks for your continued interest in the Wichita Aero Club and our aerospace industry. Now, let’s meet our guests for the upcoming virtual brunch!
Valerie Wise
Valerie Wise began her career at the Wichita Airport Authority in 1994 as an Administrative Aide and was promoted to Air Service Development and Marketing Manager in June 2006. Valerie is responsible for air service development at Wichita Eisenhower National Airport. She also directs all marketing programs, and is responsible for media relations, public relations, and customer service programs. In her former career she was as a Commodities Market Analyst for a small Chicago firm. Valerie attended the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois and Securities School in Minneapolis.
Valerie has served on the Board of the South Central Chapter, American Association of Airport Executives and on Kansas Global’s core team for the Global Cities Initiative, a joint project with Brookings Institution and JPMorgan Chase aimed at improved performance in international trade. She also serves on the Freight/Goods Movement committee for Wichita Area Metropolitan Planning Commission, and on the City’s strategic marketing committee. She and her husband have three children and eight grandchildren. Among her many air service accomplishments, highlighting her career was convincing the Network Planners at Southwest Airlines to start service in Wichita, and bringing Alaska Airlines service to Seattle in April 2017.
Since 1994, Valerie has helped build ICT’s airline service, efficiency, and reputation. She has watched its roster of airlines, service options, and passenger counts grow impressively...until the first quarter of 2020 when an international pandemic, a national economic shutdown, and eventual civil and cultural upheaval brought air travel to a virtual halt. Now, as we face the uncertainty and unprecedented challenges of recovering from this compounded chaos, Valerie, Victor, Brad and their colleagues are working hard to maintain the momentum we grew to expect over the past four years. She, along with her consultant Nicolás Mirman, will present the Airport’s response and recovery plan to an online Wichita Aero Club “virtual brunch” on Wednesday, September 30 at 10 AM...and you’re invited to participate.
