Membership Renewals!
Dear WAC Members:
I know it’s hard to believe, but 2020 is finally past. It was, we hope, an aberration. Perhaps we will soon be able to gather together for luncheons and events, once the threat of COVID-19 recedes. With that in mind, we are putting together plans for renewed educational initiatives, luncheons and our annual fund-raising gala and golf tournament. Of course, we can’t do these things without your support and encouragement. That’s why I’m writing this note to accompany the enclosed membership renewal reminder. The Wichita Aero Club needs you.
During the past year we received membership renewal payments from many of you who were willing and able to help the Aero Club sustain operations and host six ZOOM events while cutting costs and “sheltering in place” for much of the year. Now, we’re more hopeful and optimistic about returning to revenue-generating activity that will allow us to fund our operations and STEM efforts and educational priorities.
We hope you’ll be a part of this effort. We’re sending this e-mail notification now in hopes that we will be able to plan accordingly for renewed activities during the coming year, especially if and when we are cleared to begin holding luncheons. Our plans are on track to host our annual WAC Golf Classic at Crestview Country Club on Monday, May 17. For a ninth straight year, we will not raise pricing for this event. We are hoping for good weather and outstanding conditions for this fun and important event. Please watch our website and your e-mail inbox for more information on it and other news. Our website offers an easy on-line payment process for new memberships and renewals…and you can reserve foursomes or individual player slots for the golf tournament there, too.
For those of you who paid your dues during 2020—Thank you! Memberships purchased in November or December are, of course, active for all of 2021. The membership year runs from January 1 to December 31. We hope you'll respond by mid-February so that we can process all of the membership renewals during the first quarter. If you didn't renew your membership during 2020, we understand. Please consider updating your membership right now with a quick visit to our website?
If, for any reason, you have difficulty renewing on-line, you can, of course, call the office at 316-641-5962 and we’ll process your renewal. And, you can also rely on the US Mail and send us a check or money order to 12828 East 13th Street North, Suite 2, Wichita, KS 67230. We’re looking forward a return to “normal” at the Aero Club in 2021. We want you to be a part of it.
