POSTPONED: April 7 Luncheon Featuring Connie Bowlin

  • Wichita Country Club 8501 East 13th Street North Wichita, KS, 67206 United States (map)

Our April luncheon has been postponed as we join the country in doing our part to flatten the curve of COVID-19. Please check back for a rescheduled date as we currently work to keep our community safe

Join us for lunch on April 7 at the Wichita Country Club and help us welcome Connie Bowlin as our featured speaker. She’ll share her love of aviation with us during our luncheon and we can’t wait to hear about her journey from Delta Flight Attendant to Delta Captain.

A farm girl from North Carolina, Connie grew up with parents who believed in hard work and pursuing your dreams.  Introduced to flying while in college, it was not until she met her husband, Ed that the opportunity to fly became a reality.  With Ed as her mentor, offering encouragement, and support Connie realized her dream of becoming a pilot.   While working as a Flight Attendant, she obtained her ratings from private to ATP and in March, 1978 became the 4th female pilot hired by Delta - one of the first 50 women to be hired by a major carrier.  A Delta Air Lines Pilot for 26 years, she retired as a B-767 Captain.

Connie holds numerous type ratings including Warbird aircraft such as the P-51 Mustang, B-17, C-47 and others.  Her work in the Warbird community and friendships with many veterans led Connie to develop the website www.AviationAutographs.com selling autographed aviation books and prints.  Connie was the founder of “Warbirds In Review,” the very popular program which showcases Warbird aircraft, pilots and veterans during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh.  Connie and Ed were inducted in to the Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame in 2009.
